Ramsar listed sites including Narran Lake Nature Reserve, one of the most important areas for birds in NSW.

Paroo, Warrego, Culgoa, Bokhara, Barwon, Narran and Darling rivers.

Major towns

Lightning Ridge, Bourke, Cobar, Nymagee, Brewarrina.

First Nations

Barkindji, Murrawarri, Ngemba and Ngiyampaa (Barwon–Darling catchment).

Includes irrigation (including cotton), livestock grazing – sheep and cattle, urban water supply, mining, forestry and fishing.
